I Said I Would So I Did

I posted recently that I would start using the leftover pieces I have been saving from cards and other paper crafting. So last night, even though I was really sleepy, I pulled out my embellishment box and made a card. Everything except the card base and ribbon was from the box. The only thing left to add is the inside sentiment. I usually wait to add that when I know who I will be sending it to and what I want to thank them for. That idea is what actually got me started card making. I would go to the store looking for just the right card and could usually find one with the right theme but not quite the right sentiment. So, as other crafters have noted, I have spent thousands of dollars to make a five dollar card. LOL. Hope you enjoy.

February UMC Card Class

Here are the cards we are making this month. The popcorn card was designed by group member Alauna Boykin. Praying the weather will not interfere with our class.

Organize, Organize, Organize

I am, once again, organizing what I thought was already organized. I have taken the organization classes from Totally Tiffany and bought many of her products. I love her and her products, but I'm still struggling. I used to represent Close to My Heart and bought many of their organizing products, but I'm still struggling. I just got a new Craft Box and arranged everything thoughtfully, but I'm still struggling. I think I need a craft store so that I can have floor to ceiling shelves and have everything in plain view. All my paper could be displayed face forward so that I wouldn't have to pull them out one by one to see what they are. My embossing folders, stamps, and dies would each have their own place. My pens and pencils would stand at attention in their own slots... OK, enough day dreaming. Let me get to what I really wanted to blog about today. During my organizing I found many embellishments to put in my, nearly full, embellishment box. I keep promising myself that I will actually use them but, so far, have used very few. I am making a vow to schedule a regular day on my calendar to make cards from the embellishment box and will post the results. Keep Watch !!!

Making Progress

I'm very excited about the progress that we have been making to set up crafting space at my sister's house. We just need folding chairs and we will be ready to offer our first card class. There is,somewhat, of a lighting issue so I hope it will be sunny that day. As soon as I choose the cards we will offer I will post pics of them.
Meanwhile, back at home, I am trying to organize things so I can easily get into my clothes closet and dresser. I don't even try to close the craft box anymore as I enjoy having the work table always available. Of course that means I always have "stuff" piled on it. I'd love to hear from others who have the craft box about how they organize the space and how much they do or don't like it. I love mine, but wish I had a dedicated room for it so that I could open the doors all the way.

Thanks to facebook and Anna Griffin

I got one of those reminders from facebook showing a card I made two years ago and wanted to share it on my blog also.
I was so happy to see this one because it is one of my all time favorite cards. It is based on an Anna Griffin design. Along with thousands of other crafters, I love her products and designs and envy her talent.

Making Progress

Started, at last, to take items to my sister's house to set up our paper crafting business. My daughter, her son, and I made a valiant effort to break down and transport the first wave of heavy items from both our house and storage bin yesterday. Today I have been organizing and packing smaller items. In the end they are no less heavy than the larger items from yesterday. Lots of paper, punches, cutting boards, etc. Once we are set up my neighbor has agreed to help us set up a video station. So be looking for our first videos. In future I plan to film the making of the cards offered in my monthly card class.
