CRICUT INSPIRED HALLOWEEN CARD

At some point, I challenged myself to make every item in every Cricut cartridge I own. Needless to say, I have not followed through with that! However, the other day I was looking for something in Design Space and came across a cute pumpkin/bear figure and decided I had to make it. Having done that I then decided that, rather than let it sit around in my Maybe I'll Use This Someday stash, I would turn it into a Halloween card.

Accepted a Cricut Challenge

Although I teach Cricut in the Northern Maryland and Southern York County PA areas and follow Melody Lane religiously I don't often go on the official Cricut Facebook page. But I happened to do that today and decided to accept a challenge  to make something for Diwali. I found a
Diwali Mandala in Design Space and removed some of the layers. My first attempt was with wooden coasters. I printed out six copies but only used one of them which I colored in with the purple and red infusible ink pens. I used the same copy for both coasters. The first one is a bit brighter but I like them both. I liked the design so much that I then cut the design with plain purple infusible ink paper and liked it so much I put it on right away. The shirt is not as dark as it looks in the picture and is definitely purple, not blue.

FOLLOW UP TO AN EARLIER POST

I posted last month about my health issues which prevented me from accomplishing many planned tasks. In that post I mentioned that I had started an alcohol ink project and posted the incomplete picture. So I thought I would post the completed version as I am so proud of how it turned out. So proud, in fact, that I will use it as a card front.

RANDOM THOUGHTS FROM A PAPER CRAFTER

I was super excited today when I was able to correctly line up a stamp.
I hate throwing out even the smallest piece of cardstock.
I can craft happily all day long but HATE to clean up afterward.
I love making cards but seldom send them.
Related to the above, I am very possessive of everything I create.
People, not you who are reading this, argue with me when I say I am not creative. I am a copycat. I'm a much better copycat than I used to be, though, and can combine things in unique configurations.
I can spend whole days watching YouTubes of cardmaking and other techniques, but put off laundry for weeks.

I want to leave you with a picture of the card I just finished and the stamp I had to line up several times. You will understand when you see it.

Infusible Inking with Cricut

I am in love with Cricut's infusible ink. I have made some T-shirts but have not ventured into other mediums yet. I am anxious to try some of the other surfaces and will probably try the ceramic coasters next and was also thinking about wood surfaces to maybe make Christmas gifts on. It's great that infusible products are now available everywhere. As always, I rely on Melody Lane for insight and inspiration and recommend her to all of my students. I also encourage them to become patreons also so they can reap the same benefits that I do. I would not be teaching Cricut myself if it hadn't been for her. So a big shout out!!!
